Regarding Your Rights & Weingarten Rights
Employees have the right to insist upon the presence of a Shop Steward in an investigatory interview that is reasonably believed will result in a disciplinary action against the employee. This is your right under the “Weingarten” case. If you are called into a meeting and you think that the employer is considering discipline, you can invoke the right to a Steward by saying:
“Am I going to be disciplined?” If the answer is anything but “No”, then say: “I want my Union Steward.”
